OK ANTH 110 students, here are some resources that I have collected today that you can use to get a more complete picture of what KONY 2012 is all about. The 30 minute video on Youtube has become the most watched viral video in history, which explains why so many people are talking about this at the moment. The comments and criticisms really relate to discusisons in today’s class with respect to outside intervention, “salvation”, etc… It will be a good topic to briefly discuss in an upcoming class to revisit some of these ideas.

- two opinion pieces that summarize the criticisms quite well; Al Jezeera’s OpEd piece, and Neil Gaiman’s Tumblr blog (thanks Katie for suggesting this one)
There are likley some interesting vlog responses on Youtube and elsewhere from Ugandans (as Elliot mentioned in class today) but I ahve not had a chance to hunt any of these down. It is always useful to hear insiders’ perspectives and representations of issues. I am happy to post more if you guys feel there are additional resources that your peers would find interesting and informative!
